Dear Friend,

As a child I was fortunate enough to play the clarinet (in both concert and marching band), play the “sweeper” position on the field hockey team, play various positions on a softball team, attend summer camp for two years, and spend hot summer days at the pool with my friends.  These experiences left me with many fond memories of childhood, as well as meaningful life lessons.  While raising my daughter, I did my best to provide her with similar experiences.  I truly believe that all children should have the opportunity to play a musical instrument, participate in sports, and/or attend summer camp.  The Hanover Area YMCA offers many choices for kids to have fun, build meaningful relationships, and learn valuable lessons that will benefit them their entire lives.

I am continually impressed with the YMCA team’s level of dedication and passion for giving program participants a rewarding, safe experience. There is no greater joy than hearing the laughter of the children who walk through the halls of the Y. Over the years, the community has continued to rally together and raise hundreds of thousands of dollars that directly provide need-based scholarships to children. These funds ensure that all children can participate in team sports and camp, learn to swim, and have a safe place to grow and discover while their parents work.

We want to reach more kids than ever before, so we have set an aggressive goal of $275,000. We need your help to get there. My hope is that whether you donated in the past, or you are new to the Hanover Area, we can count on you to help us this year.
