Where Summer Comes Alive
The Hanover Area YMCA is ready to redefine your summer! Campers experience theme weeks, hands-on experiences, and opportunities to make new memories, all while our staff teach new skills and facilitate learning through activity in a safe and fun environment. Throughout the summer, we focus on building character, self-esteem, and teamwork — encouraging campers to make new friends and grow their interpersonal skills and independence. Camp Hickory is offered at all four of our locations: Gettysburg, Hanover, Littlestown, and South Hanover.

Adventure Awaits
Codorus Adventure Camp
Looking for something a little extra? Codorus Adventure Camp gives campers the chance to explore the great outdoors at beautiful Codorus State Park during select summer weeks. Campers travel by YMCA bus from each branch to the park for a full day of fresh air, fun, and adventure — with activities like kayaking, hiking, fishing, outdoor games, and a picnic lunch (campers bring their own packed lunch). With YMCA staff leading the way, campers build confidence, teamwork, and a love for nature in a safe, structured outdoor setting. Transportation, supervision, and activities are all included, though availability is limited. Pick up and drop off will be at the YMCA branch. We will transport them to and from Codorus State Park each day.

From games and group challenges to creative projects and unforgettable moments, Camp Hickory is where kids laugh big, try new things, and make friendships that last long after summer ends. Throughout the summer, our staff focus on building character, self-esteem, and teamwork, all while encouraging campers to socialize and grow their independence.
