HANOVER AREA YMCA ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH LITTLESTOWN AREA PARK AND COMMUNITY POOL

HANOVER, PA; Tuesday, February 13, 2018— The Hanover Area YMCA is pleased to announce the recent partnership with Littlestown Park and Littlestown Community Pool on January 25, 2018. The property boasts 15 acres in the Adams County area, nestled in the heart of Littlestown, PA.

The acquisition will allow the Hanover Area YMCA to provide more opportunities for the greater Littlestown area families and youth. In addition to the community pool, the property currently holds soccer and baseball fields, walking trails, rentable gazebos, and tennis courts.  The Y is planning to add more sports fields for youth and adult leagues to provide more fitness and wellness opportunities. As of now, the Y will not be making any additional significant changes to the parks or pool and plans to keep the current set up as is.

“We couldn’t ask for a better community to be a part of.” Says Ryan Fitzgibbons, President and COO for the Hanover Area YMCA. “The Littlestown community has really helped us grow to where we are today and we are beyond grateful to be able to extend this opportunity to give back.”

Since 1989, the Littlestown YMCA location has served as the community center for youth and adult sports, group fitness classes, camps, and LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA — a 12 week program for cancer survivors, which includes strength training, mentorship, and support resources, as well as integrating fitness and wellness programs into the school system.

“Ryan and I have been working on this partnership over the last few months to bring this opportunity to the Littlestown community.  We are looking forward to continuing this relationship between Littlestown Borough and the Hanover YMCA.” States Charles Keller, Borough Manager/ Chief of Police.

“The Y is more than just a place to work out — we’re a place of community. If community members also choose to join the Y, they will have access to all three locations with the Y All Access Membership, to enjoy all the amenities the Y has to offer, in addition to, specially discounted pool rates.” Fitzgibbons continued.

Discounted preseason pool passes are on sale now through the Littlestown YMCA.  Current members of the Hanover Area YMCA will also have the option to purchase a season pool pass, at a special discounted rate.  The Y is already in the planning stages for the upcoming summer season to include pool party rentals, teen dance nights, moonlight swims, cookouts, family nights, and more. The pool will open Saturday, May 26- Monday, May 28, 2018 from 11 AM- 7 PM, then officially open for the summer, Saturday, June 2.  The pool will then remain open daily, Monday thru Sunday 11 AM to 7 PM until school starts, then weekends only.  The pool season will end, Labor Day, Monday, September 3, 2018.
