Hanover RunFest 2019
The Hanover YMCA RunFest 2019 includes 2 running options: USATF certified chip-timed Half Marathon and the Kids Crusader 1-Mile Fun Run. All proceeds benefit the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, is a FREE 12 week, research-based program that supports cancer survivors in regaining their physical, emotional, and spiritual strength. The program is conducted in a small group environment that includes individualized attention for each participant. Adult survivors are eligible to join the program during all stages of recovery. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA also serves and embraces the families and caregivers that have been affected by the disease by providing a free family membership throughout the course of the program.

Race begins and ends at the North Hanover YMCA- North, 500 N. George St., Hanover, PA. Check-in begins at 6:00 AM, with start line up at 7:40 AM and the race starting promptly at 8:00 AM. The race route will close at 11:30 A.M. Changing rooms and showers are available inside the Y.
This 13.1 mile course is a winding loop through Hanover, Pennsylvania. Beginning at the Hanover Y, runners will pass beautiful farmland and scenic views in the Hershey Heights area. With only one significant hill, the race’s total elevation gain is 550 feet. Runners will enjoy a long downhill and cross over into the industrial park ultimately leading them to Hanover’s rail trail. The end of the course loops through tree lined streets and ends back at the YMCA.

Half Marathon/ 2-Person Relay Team - Male and Female Age Division 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers. All runners will receive a finisher medal.
A moisture-wicking race shirt will be provided to those registered by Sept. 6, 2019; others provided while supplies last
EVENT PRICE AND DETAILS:
Online registration will close on October 3 at midnight. Onsite registrations will be accepted at any Hanover YMCA location from October 4-7, pending space availability.
Perseverance Half: $70 Registration (Price increases to $80.00 after June 1/ Price increases to $90 after September 1/ Price increases to $100 October 1-5 and must be done in person at any Hanover Area YMCA location. We not be accepting race day registrations)
Resilience 2-Person Relay: $135 Registration (Price increase to $145 after September 1/ Price increases to $155 October 1-5 and must be must be done in person at any Hanover Area YMCA location. We will not be accepting race day registrations).
Injured runners may defer their race registration to the 2020 race provided the Race Director is notified October 1, 2019. Race registrations may not be transferred to another individual. After Sept. 1, we will not be moving Half marathon runners to the relay option and visa versa.

SURVIVOR DEDICATION PENNANT (Provided to each registered runner at packet pick up):
1 pennant will be provided to each registrant for decoration at packet pick-up. Pennants will be hung along the race chute in honor of those who have battled cancer. Additional pennants available for purchase for $5.
CRUSADER KIDS FUN RUN: Sunday, Oct. 6 at 8:30 AM
The 1-Mile Crusader Kids Fun Run begins after the start of the half marathon with line up beginning at 8:15 AM and the race starting at 8:30 AM. The race is $10 per child and includes a T. Separate registration form available online or at the Y.

Each race participant receives a pennant. You may purchase extras to honor a cancer survivor at the Greater Hanover Area YMCA RunFest with a dedication pennant. Pennants include the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA logo and a space to write the survivor’s name. All pennants will be displayed at the start and finish line of the race. Cost of a pennant is $5. Please visit the front desk at any Hanover Area Y location to purchase your pennants.
