Early Learning Center (Hanover YMCA)
Our Preschool Child Care program provides a safe and nurturing environment for youth ages 13 months-5 years of age. We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW). Our program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of the Young Child (NAEYC) and is a Star level 4 through Keystone Stars.
The Preschool Child Care program is open year round, from 6:15am to 6:00pm for working parents/guardians. We provide a developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum which emphasizes learning through play. The program promotes the development of physical, cognitive, social and self help skills. The center also offers unique features unlike other child care programs.
Children ages 3-5 participate in weekly swimming, gymnastics and weekly fitness instruction. Children ages 2-5 enjoy outdoor play time on age appropriate playground equipment and use tricycles and scooters on the outdoor play surface. We provide a morning and afternoon snack, breakfast before 8am and a nutritious lunch. Family members enjoy special monthly activities which include vocal concerts, field trips and luncheons. Tuition includes all of the above.
The YMCA takes great pride in a highly trained professional child care team. Children receive constant supervision in a warm, nurturing environment. We encourage caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all activities. Teachers will work with families to assist with potty learning at the developmentally appropriate time for those under age 3. Children ages 3-5 must be fully potty learned.
