The Hanover Area Family YMCA provides a year-round aquatics program, both instructional and recreational for all ages, abilities, levels and interests. Our aquatics program lays a foundation of water skills and safety guidelines so participants can enjoy a lifetime of safe, healthy, aquatic activities. Our progressive method of instruction allows participants to grow and learn at their own pace, mastering skills while building their self-confidence and self-esteem. The Hanover Y is committed to the positive aspects of competitive swim for our youth.
The Y is proud to be the "home" of the Hanover YMCA Stingrays that compete in the CASL summer league and CPAL fall/winter league. Go Team!
Director, Kim Capone; kcapone@hanoverymca.org
Pool passes are available M-F for $4 per day, and Saturday and Sunday
(both days) $6. Under the age of 5 are free. Come swim at the Hanover Area YMCA!
Swim Lesson Policies Classes that have less than 4 participants will be canceled and combined with existing classes.
Instructor to swimmer ratios are as follows:
Under 3 years of age 1:1
3-5 years of age 1:6
6 and up 1:8
This is the National YMCA recommendation which the Hanover YMCA fully abides for quality supervision during swimming lessons. If there are more participants than ratio, another instructor will be added. It is important to register early for classes so that we may be sure to have enough instructors for a class.
There will be no makeups unless there is a space available in other existing classes. You must call the Aquatic Director to schedule a makeup. If the YMCA cancels a class due to no instructor, or pool closure, a makeup class will be held. Refunds given only if the YMCA cancels program, credit will be issued once program has started and participant drops class.
